These posts are meant to showcase the work of my students from Escena. I am not the creator of these pieces. I only served as one of several guides as these amazing artists started putting into practice what they'd learned during their first years of art school.
Alongside Braulio Martinez, Emilio Ramirez was also a student exempted from delivering a short film to graduate from Escena's bachelor degree who chose instead to direct one of his own with Andrea Pintor as his producer and Edver Yañez as their art director.
The three of them would end up getting hired by Escena Animation Studio on the quality of their work alone, while Shell Shock would go on to be nominated for a Quirino Award which remains to this days one of the highest accolades the school has ever received.
SYNOPSIS
Cain and Abe are brothers who enlist during World War I to fight for the UK. Their duty is to eliminate any soldier who deserts the battlefield. Cain is a strong and tough man, with more experience as a soldier, unlike his younger brother who has just joined the army. With Cain's help, Abe will learn to forego his humanity to do his job without remorse, regardless of who might be staring down the barrel of his gun.
