These posts are meant to showcase the work of my students from Escena. I am not the creator of these pieces. I only served as one of several guides as these amazing artists started putting into practice what they'd learned during their first years of art school.
Burnout was conceived by my former student Lou Baez as a self reflection on her own experiences as an artist and the toll that her workload took on her at times. She crafted a story around a budding artist who ends up consumming himself by that which once was his source of motivation.
She wasn't sure she wanted to direct, but her script was my favorite one of her generation and eventually she agreed to do it with Sebastián Mimbrera as her producer. They finished in record time the first film to start garnering world class festival selections such as Chilemonos for Escena Animation School.
